About Deirdre
Always be curious. Always learn more. Always ask questions.
I'm curious about how things work, and I've spent most of my life following that curiosity wherever it leads: into proposals, into my own family's history, into a sketchbook, into a garden bed I probably planted too close together again this year.
By day, I solve the puzzle of what an evaluator actually needs and build a proposal that answers it. Outside of that, I'm writing a multi-generational family saga rooted in my own genealogy, working through colored pencils and whatever art supply currently has my attention, and slowly relearning that health is a lot more than diet and exercise. All of it ends up on this site in one form or another.
Off the page, I've got two rescue dogs who run the house more than I do, a bird feeder I refill more often than is probably necessary, and a garden that's more ambition than order most summers. I cook, mostly because I like the process as much as the result. I read constantly and always have something going.
I support a few causes that matter to me: Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, because rescue animals deserve people who show up for them; Unbound, for its work against global poverty; and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, for research toward a disease that touches more families than people realize.
If any of this sounds like you, or like something you're curious about too, look around. You'll find links to my writing below, and to the Blog here.
