The Life and Times of Princess Cailin, the Pretzel Girl
Hi, I'm Princess Cailin. I've crossed the Rainbow Bridge but I want to tell you a little about my awesome family and the wonderful life that I had with them.

Introduction
On March 1, 2010, my family adopted me from Halfway Home Pet Adoption so my new brother, Buddy, would have a friend. We loved each other immediately.

Adoption and a New Brother
People thought I was his pup.

Mini Me
But it wasn't all fun and games...

Oh-oh...
But then I had enough.

Here she comes!
And Buddy apologized.

Respect little sister!
I was a sickly pup, and he helped me get better.

Poor baby
One time, we got stuck out in a thunderstorm. Very scary. We found the driest part of the porch and Buddy covered me with his body to keep me safe and warm.

Good Brother
I learned to love swimming. Well, I loved swimming with Buddy.

But not that scary
And I grew up to be strong...

So strong...
And fierce.

And tall
And then I found out that mommy likes to play dress up.

What's wrong with that?
My first Christmas.

She was spoiled
My first birthday.

Healthy and Happy
My first St. Patrick's Day. I wasn't sure what was going on but I wanted to be included.

Buddy's not happy
My first Snake Day Parade

The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day
On March 23, 2011, I got a new brother!

She's excited
And we became the Three Amigos

The Three Stooges
And explored...

Always exploring
And walked...

Three leashes, one human
And guarded the house...

Zero squirrel attacks
And ran...

So much energy
And trained...

Sit, shake, lay down
And napped...

They can fall asleep on a dime.
And swam...

It's hard to get a good picture when they never stop moving.
And explored...

They loved the snow.
Green's my color.

Snake Day/St. Patrick's Day
We went to the Renaissance Festival...

She liked this costume better.
Sometimes we stayed in a cabin...

They were good road dogs.
Buddy didn't like rafting.

He kept trying to jump out of the boat.
We had a lot of fun.

Never stop playing.
Let's see, what else...
How about some of my favorite things?

Sure...
Yeah, leave her stuff alone.

Learning the hard way.
They deserved it. Stay out of my kennel.

Spicy Princess
Running in the summer!

Never stopping...
Running in the winter!

The cold didn't bother them.
Being an enforcer! Follow the rules, brothers. Break one and I'll growl and look at mommy for support. No biting allowed.

So happy she stopped biting.
Looking out the big windows.

New house so they'd have windows
Begging for cuddles. I somersault onto my back and curl up like a roly-poly bug if I wanted a belly rub.

Pretzel Girl
Chewing bones. Real raw bones!

Stinking bones
I love being near Buddy.

Some things never change
Outside together.

Almost got a yin/yang there
Togther on the floor.

Gray faced twins
Yeah, I cuddled with Maddok sometimes.

2nd favorite brother
My last Christmas.

Still a princess
Even though I was sick, I was still happy..

Still has a beautiful smile
Then, on March 18, 2022, surrounded by my family, I became an angel dog.

She was 13-1/2 years old.
I was born on October 18, 2009. I didn't have a family, so Dawn with the Foxwood Animal Rescue took me in. She named me Sasha and told me I'd find a forever home.

Start from the Beginning
We were always together.
Side note: I always wore my ears straight up until I saw that Buddy wore his down. Always wore them down after that.

Ears Decision
And we looked a lot alike.

Twinsies
Buddy thought it was funny to pretend to hamstring me!

Watch out...
I learned to be fierce!

15 pounds of fury!
Most of the time, we were best friends.

Besties
No matter how annoying I was.

But she was cute enough to make up for it.
Buddy showed me how to run without a leash while staying with the pack. Shawnee Mission Lake leashless dog park had acres of fields, trees... and a lake!

Swimming is scary
He showed me how to fetch. But only in the water.

No fetching on land
And brave...

And brave...
Double puppy eyes for treats.

Beggars
I got to be a fairy butterfly at the Renaissance Festival.

She hated it
Buddy didn't like to dress up at all.

He really didn't
Buddy helped me get ready.

So helpful
I don't think this one works.

Cailin's not happy either
We looked good.

Belles of the Ball... I mean Parade
His name is Maddok.

The Brindle Bunch
We had so much fun. We ran...

So much fun
And swam....

Lakes are great
And begged...

Bully Bones are the best
And napped...

How do dogs fall asleep so easily?
And sniffed...

So many things to sniff
We got bright yellow safety vests.

Buddy lost it within the first 1/2 hour.
And ran...

Five to ten miles a day was good.
And begged...

They did burn a lot of calories.
We dressed up for Christmas...

Neckerchiefs were bearable.
The Fourth of July

They'd rather not be leashed.
We went on vacation...

I think we need a bigger vehicle.
And one time we went rafting...

I think we need a bigger boat.
I guess that's why we wore life jackets.

Yes!
Our family portrait.

Handsome family
Toys! I would hide them in my kennel. If Buddy or Maddok tried to steal them, I'd bite them on the foot Then they would have to wear cones of shame .

She loved her kennel.
Definitely don't let her catch you.

All siblings fight, right?
I was Grampa Hock's favorite.

She'd lay near him but not on him.
Running in the water!

Rivers are even better than lakes.
The fireplace. Especially with a sunbeam.

The fireplace is a favorite for them all.
Bath time! Not really. We all hate them. And yes, getting wet in lakes and rivers are completely different and acceptable.

Warm water and a massage. Horrible.
Napping on the loveseat

Otherwise known as the dog couch.
Headbutt hugs. I would butt my head into mom or dad's side and then pretzel myself upside down against them

I got headbutted out of bed when she decided sleep time was over.
Lying outside in the sun on a warm day.

And barking at everything
Inside together.

Attached at the hip
On the couch together.

Never without a pillow
Begging for food together.

Beautiful smile
In 2021, I developed kidney disease, and a tumor started growing on my liver.

And now the sad part
I get cold. This was after my last bath.

Yes, she still got baths
My brothers offered what comfort they could.

She lost so much weight.
Thank you for listening to my story. I had this great life because I was rescued. If you need a furbaby, please adopt a rescue in my memory.
